I first came across this recipe through one of my favourite food blogs Eat, Little Bird.
It has been causing a bit of a stir among my foodie friends for quite some time now. Everyone who makes these pretty little cakes seems to love them! I’ve been meaning to try them for months. I finally got around to it this weekend and I can now see why everyone raves about them..they are just delicious. But then I knew I’d love them..raspberries and chocolate are one of my favourite combinations but paired with Nutella? Sign me up for that! I am a complete Nutella fiend. It’s funny though – I can’t eat it on a piece of bread like my children can, but I absolutely adore it in cakes. Or warmed up and drizzled over ice cream. Or just straight out of the jar. You just can’t beat it.
These little cakes are quite wonderful just warm from the oven… the warm, Nutella filling paired with the deep flavour of the chocolate cake and raspberries is just to die for. But I can confirm they are also very good cold and the Nutella middle stays nice and gooey 😉 A drizzle of cream wouldn’t be a bad addition either. This is a recipe I will definitely make again. Next time though I would be a little more generous with the Nutella. I don’t believe there is such a thing as too much Nutella.
Last night I sat and typed out a huge post dedicated to these little beauties…but then my computer crashed and I lost the whole thing. I could have cried. These things are sent to try us. I consoled myself with one of these little cakes. I felt much better 😉
So I’m not even going to bother typing out that long post again…I think the pictures speak for themselves anyway. Find the recipe on Thanh’s beautiful blog…please try them. You won’t be sorry, I promise!
