Ok, I know, I’m a little late to the party. But I just thought I’d share the Halloween cake I made yesterday. How did you celebrate? Hope you all had a wicked time. We definitely did. We went around the neighborhood and my boys returned with buckets full to the brim with sweeties so they were very happy 🙂
The cake was a moist buttermilk vanilla cake, sandwiched together with strawberry jam and iced with a meringue buttercream icing. I decorated the cake with chocolate spiderwebs and home made coloured sugar.
To make coloured sugar all you need to do is fill a bag with some granulated sugar then add a few drops food colouring or a tiny amount of food colour gel (mine are Wilton), shake the bag until you have coloured sugar! I was impatient and ended up mixing it with my hands, I ended up with multicoloured fingers!
