I can’t actually believe I’m typing this, but here we are at the end of 2012. What a year! It’s definitely had high and low parts, but on the whole it’s been pretty amazing. Tonight I’m so happy to be seeing in the New Year with my gorgeous family, I love them all so much.
I was thinking of doing something along the lines of most popular posts of 2012, but you’ve seen that all before. So instead I’m going to share a few goodies I made this year that didn’t end up being blogged….
Way back in January I made this pecan plus pie from Nigella Christmas. It was delicious!
Orange Blueberry muffins from Baking from my home to yours by Dorie Greenspan. These muffins are the best. It’s not often you’ll hear me saying that very often about a recipe, but these really are!
XBox cake for my son’s ninth Birthday…this cake was made on a complete whim, assembled very late on a Friday night.
Caramel, coconut & almond bars from “Mix & Bake” by Belinda Jeffrey. This happens to be one of my favourite baking books, sadly though I am destined to only borrow it from the library because it costs £40 on Amazon!! :-0
Chocolate Guinness cake from Nigella Lawson “Feast”. A gorgeous recipe, even if you don’t like Guinness, don’t let that put you off making this moist and yummy cake.
White chocolate & cranberry blondies from Sainsburys magazine, early Summer. One of my favourites from this year.
Raspberry ripple cake. I made this in June when I came home from the Good Food show. It was my belated Birthday cake. Not the best picture to showcase this stunning cake but believe me when I say it’s nothing short of amazing!
Salted caramel ice box pie. Very rich and sweet! It was almost too much for even me, Mrs Sweet tooth herself!
Leon Lemon bars. Oh how I love these!
Nutella baked doughnuts…I made these after my good friend Jo posted them on her blog..I’m very glad she introduced me to them (don’t know if my waistline is though) 😉
Danish pasties from Paul Hollywood’s How to bake…brilliant, informative book. One of the best I’ve purchased this year.
Many batches of brownies were made this year for family, friends and bake sales.
Salted macadamia brittle from Sugar & Spice; sweets & treats from around the world by Gaitri Pagrach Chandra. A beautiful book I thoroughly recommend if you enjoy or are interested in making sweets.
All that remains for me to say is Happy New Year! Thank you all so much for your support over the past 12 months. Bring on 2013!
