Once of my most most viewed recipes is my mint Aero traybake – it seems to be loved by everyone! I wasn’t sure whether to post this because it’s basically a slightly modified version of the mint Aero traybake, but I had such a big response when I posted a picture of this on my Facebook page on Sunday night I couldn’t resist sharing.
Obviously if orange isn’t your thing you can use the mint Aero instead. Enjoy!I
Orange Aero Bubble Traybake
300g milk chocolate
2 tbsp golden syrup
200g rich tea biscuits, broken up into small-ish pieces of various sizes
125g bag Orange Aero bubbles or a bar of Orange Aero, chopped
100g orange chocolate buttons (I used Silverspoon)
Melt 200g of the chocolate, syrup and butter together in a large pan. Take off the heat and let it cool slightly so your Aero bubbles/chunks don’t melt when you add them 🙂 Once the mixture has cooled slightly, stir in the crushed biscuits and aero bubbles. Tip this mixture into a lined 20cm square tin and level as best as you can with a spatula. Place in the fridge for 1 hour to set.
Melt the remaining 100g milk chocolate over a saucepan of simmering water. Pour evenly over the traybake and pop it back in the fridge for 20 minutes so the chocolate sets. Melt the chocolate orange buttons and drizzle over the milk chocolate layer. Swirl with the point of a table knife and pop back in the fridge to set. Once the chocolate is set, decorate with crushed orange Aero.
