Today I’m sharing another quick and easy air fryer recipe that’s quick, easy and fuss free – just what we need in the Summer holidays.
I love salmon and try and eat it once a week, but I’ve never tried flavouring it with a glaze before. If you like sweet chilli, I urge you to give this a go – you’ll love it.
why you’ll love this recipe
- Quicker than the oven – ready in about 10 minutes
- Perfectly cooked salmon – slightly crisp on the outside and perfectly flaky inside
- Great for busy evenings
- Only 5 ingredients
Air fryer sweet chilli salmon ingredients
A full ingredient list, along with detailed instructions on how to make this recipe, can be found in the printable recipe card at the end of this post.

- Salmon Fillets – I used boneless salmon with the skin still on.
- Soy Sauce – balances the sweetness of the sweet chilli sauce. You can use either light or dark, but dark will give a deeper, richer flavour.
- Sweet Chilli Sauce – use whatever brand is your favourite. I bought one from an independent Asian supermarket.
- Fresh Lime Juice – this “peps” up the sauce and cuts through the richness of the chilli sauce.
- Crushed Garlic Puree or paste – This is optional. If you love garlic, then it’s a good addition. If you’re not so keen, you can leave it out.
how to make it
1. In a small bowl, mix together the ingredients for the sauce.

3. Preheat the air fryer to 180C. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin side down. If you like, line your air fryer tray with a piece of tin foil.
4. Cook the salmon for about 5 minutes on each side.
5. While the salmon is cooking, place the remaining glaze in a small saucepan. Add one tablespoon of water and gently bring to the boil until the glaze has slightly thickened. Pour the glaze over the cooked salmon.

tips for perfect air fryer salmon
- For extra caramelisation, brush the salmon fillets with glaze halfway through cooking.
- Thicker salmon fillets might need an extra minute or two to cook – use a fork to check if they’re ready – if they flake easily and don’t look opaque in the middle, they’re done.
serving suggestions
This air fryer salmon recipe pairs very well with buttered new potatoes and vegetables, but it would also be excellent with egg noodles. Need more inspiration? Here are a few more options:
- A side salad (a cucumber salad would be perfect with the salmon)
- Stir-Fried vegetables such as courgettes, peppers, sliced red onion, tomatoes
