Discover delicious sweet and savoury pumpkin recipes for Autumn and Thanksgiving – from cosy sweet bakes to warming savoury dishes.

Autumn is definitely the cook’s season. It’s certainly one of my favourite times to bake and cook. When the weather turns chilly and it’s dark by late afternoon, there’s nothing more comforting than pulling a warming casserole, a creamy pasta bake, or spiced muffins from the oven to share with your loved ones.

If you share my fondness for pumpkin, I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration from this pumpkin recipe round-up. You’ll find warming soups, easy dinners from curries to a creamy macaroni cheese and some stunning bakes that are simply perfect for this time of year.

Just a quick note…you’ll spot a few butternut squash recipes in the round-up. I know technically speaking, a squash is not a pumpkin, but the flavour and texture are so similar that the two can easily be swapped for one another.

Yes all of these recipes above (apart from the pumpkin spiced latte!) can be frozen for another time. Cool completely, then freeze in airtight containers. The bakes and desserts will keep for up to 3 months and the savoury recipes, such as the macaroni cheese and the curry, will be fine for up to 2 months. Defrost thoroughly before reheating/eating. Oh – and I wouldn’t freeze the stuffed pumpkin – that is definitely best eaten fresh!
Many of the larger supermarkets stock tins of pureed pumpkin in the Winter months, and it can also be found on Amazon. However, you can easily make your own pumpkin pureé!
Yes – the flavour and texture are similar, so you could swap one for the other for most of the recipes without any issues.
